NJAM strives to:
- Facilitate the exchange of information
- Increase and enhance the knowledge of museum practices
- Promote public support

Benefits

Communicate with Other Professionals: The NJAM website provides a venue for NJAM member individuals and institutions to learn about funding opportunities, share developments in best practices and list job opening announcements and staff changes.

Enjoy Affordable Professional Development and Peer Interaction:

  • Annual Meeting: Gather with fellow museum professionals to explore issues, solve problems, share news and celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues.
  • Workshops: Full and half-day programs offered throughout the year on varied topics of interest to the field.

Crisis Support Network: Learn how to create a mutual aid plan with one or more institutions in your area, agreeing to provide one another with qualified, pro-bono staff in the unlikely event of a physical or reputation crisis.

Gain Valuable Exposure: Tourists as well as New Jersey residents can easily find out about special events, new exhibitions and other visiting opportunities at your museum. Member institutions will receive a live link to their websites from the NJAM website.
